The Ranajilleda Waterfalls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka. It is located in the Kumbukkuliya area, which is situated in the central part of the country. The Ranajilleda Waterfalls are located on a slope and have a height of about 100 meters.The waterfall has a total height of about 100 meters and it has three tiers, with each one having its own beauty. The first tier contains small pools where water collects before flowing over to the next tier. The second tier is also known as “the main fall”, which has a width of around 12 meters and height of about 15 meters, while the third tier has a width of around 5 meters and height of about 10 meters.There are many reasons why you should visit this waterfall, but some people say that it was created for those who desire peace and quietness away from busy cities or those who need to escape from their daily lives.The word "ranajillida" means "place where you can see many snakes". The name comes from a legend about how two serpents were killed near this spot, and their blood stained the rocks red, turning it into a place where you could see many snakes.
